Abstract
This article focuses on genetic formation features of Tihmenevskoe deposit of bentonite (Sakhalin Island). There are given a brief geological structure, mineral and chemical compositions. The process of devitrification of volcanic glass and depositional conditions are described in details as well as the composition of mother substance.
