Abstract
By numerical solving of a parametric inverse Sturm-Liouville problem, investigation of the model of a planar optical waveguide with a gradient exponential profile of the refractive index has been done to determine the profile parameters providing proximity of the waveguide modes spectrum to an equidistant one.
