Dear Readers of the journal of law! Colleagues! Students and graduate students! The beginning of next year, 2020, is marked by a big event - the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) and RUDN Law Institute will celebrate their 60th anniversary! Our university was founded in 1960 by the Soviet Government. The Soviet Union has always supported the national liberation movement in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Young states urgently needed qualified personnel, including in the field of jurisprudence. The university became an effective forge of cadres for the developing states freed from colonial dependence. Over the years, the faculty of economics and law has developed. In 1966 it became an independent structural unit of the University, and in 2014 - the Law Institute. If in the early 60s there were not so many graduates, now there are hundreds of students, masters, graduate students and doctoral students. Scientific schools were strengthened, dozens of candidate and doctoral dissertations were defended. Hundreds of books and scientific articles have been published. Textbooks and study guides have become a methodological and educational basis not only for students of the Law Institute, but also for students of other law schools and faculties. Our students and graduate students are not only diligent in study and scientific activity, but also show themselves in public life: victories in sports competitions, intellectual competitions, etc. Today, we remember with gratitude the founders of the Faculty of Law in the Peoples' Friendship University: · Oleg Andreevich Zhidkov, Doctor of Law, Professor; · Alexander Filippovich Shebanov, Doctor of Law, Professor; · Nikolai Vladimirovich Chernogolovkin, Doctor of Law, Professor; · Nina Antonovna Kufakova, Ph.D., Professor, and many others. Eternal memory to those who are no longer with us, and health wishes to those who work at the Law Institute or are in a deserved retirement!
