The purpose of this study is to present the order and process of collecting rent for themenos rentals in Attica (the region of Athens) in the second half of the 4th century BC, based on epigraphic data. As the main source, the author uses epigraphic data, which are inscriptions about rent, which are not sufficiently studied in modern historiography. Based on a detailed analysis of epigraphic materials, it is shown that there were certain ways of collecting rent. A comparative analysis of information from Attica and other regions of Ancient Greece (Thespiae, Delos) suggests that Greek polis had generally accepted rules for organizing the process of collecting rent during the lease of temenos, which remained largely unchanged over time. The following conclusions have been drawn: the rents received by the landlords of the temenos in Attica in the second half of the 4th century BC was low, as the main motive for organizing the transaction was not to generate significant and sustainable income, but to ensure proper care for the sacred sites. In the second half of the IVth century BC, Attica had a strict system of collecting rents, which was overseen by special officials, such as demarchs or religious community managers. They also controlled the distribution of funds received from the rental of temenos.

Цель исследования - представить, каким был порядок и как происходил процесс взимания платы за аренду теменосов в Аттике (области Афин) во второй половине IV в. до н.э. на основании эпиграфических данных. В качестве основного источника использованы данные эпиграфики, представляющие собой надписи об аренде, которые недостаточно изучены в современной историографии. На основе подробного анализа эпиграфических материалов показано, что существовали определенные способы сбора арендной платы. Сравнительный анализ сведений из Аттики и других областей Древней Греции (Феспий, Делоса) дает возможность предположить, что в греческих полисах в ходе аренды теменосов существовали общепринятые правила организации процесса взимания арендной платы, которые практически не менялись со временем. Выводы: арендная плата, которую получали арендодатели теменосов в Аттике второй половины IV в. до н.э., была невысокой, поскольку основным мотивом организации сделки являлось не получение значительного устойчивого дохода, а обеспечение должного ухода за священными участками. В Аттике второй половины IV в. до н.э. существовал строгий порядок взимания арендной платы, за осуществлением которого следили специальные должностные лица, как правило, демархи или управляющие религиозным сообществом. Они также контролировали процесс распределения средств, полученных от сдачи в аренду теменосов.
