At the center of attention - publications prepared by one of the leading American centers of Russian studies, Kennan Institute, the branch of Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. The article is based on the materials of Eurasian Migration Papers which was founded by Kennan Institute at the beginning of the XXI century. The author uses also publications by Kennan Institute stuff situated on its offi cial website. The authors of these publications are as American sociologists and specialists on migration problems as scholars from post-Soviet states who cooperate with Kennan Institute. An analysis of Kennan Institute publications gives us an opportunity to stress key problems of interest for American specialists on Russian migration policy: the main periods of evolution of Russian migration policy, migrants from Central Asia and South Caucasus in contemporary Russia, Chinese migrants in Russian Federation, relations between Russian population and migrants. The author concludes that scholarship by American specialists on migration problems have high scientifi c level. Some specialists regularly do their fi eld studies in different Russian regions and cities, not only in Moscow and Moscow region. They use different methods of demography and sociology. But they usually stress different problems of relations between Russian society and migrants. They also criticize the activity of Russian offi cial institutes dealing with migration problems. American specialists think that these institutes have no success in long-time integration of migrants in Russia. American sociologists cooperated with Kennan Institute try to prove that problems of nationalism and racism really exist in contemporary Russian society. Such moods, to their minds, are very popular not only in Moscow region but also in different parts of Russian federation. This situation is dangerous for social and political stability in contemporary Russia.</p>
Эта ситуация создает угрозу социальной и политической стабильности в современной России.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>Russian Studies in America</kwd><kwd>Kennan Institute</kwd><kwd>Russian migration policy</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Американская русистика</kwd><kwd>Институт Кеннана</kwd><kwd>миграционная по-литика России</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group/></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Bolhovitinov N.N.
