The well-known structures and build- ings of all types which had practical importance and novelty, were marked by the rewards of professional association or were passed into the top lists of journals are presented in the paper. The author offered his own classification of cable-stayed structures containing nine types of considered structures</abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru">Вантовые конструкции просты в монтаже, легкие по весу, надежны в эксплуата- ции, а во многих случаях отличаются и архитектурной выразительностью.
