In the article there are mainly stressed necessity of vast sociocultural context knowledge by a trans-lator: both foreign and own. Simultaneously in some cases there are brought about necessity of encyclopedic commentary on comperative basis with reconing recepient's of literary text native culture. The author denies as well significance of attempt of obligatory equivalents finding in translator’s language. In the article there are given some examples of literary text by famous writers fragments translation in English with following encyclopedic analysis. Translation activities are analyzed in close connection with language as mean of cross-cultural communication teaching and called upon to solve the problems how in a proper way to eliminate obstacles in the situation of different languages and cultures interaction.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>В статье рассматриваются проблемы перевода как одной из форм межкультурной коммуникации. Основной акцент делается на необходимости знания переводчиком широкого социокультурного контекста: как чужого, так и своего собственного. Одновременно в ряде случаев обуславливается необходимость лингвострановедческого комментирования на сопоставительной основе и с учетом родной культуры адресата-реципиента художественного текста. Также отрицается значимость попытки обязательного нахождения эквивалента в языке перевода. Приводится ряд примеров перевода отрывков из художественной литературы, принадлежащих перу известных авторов, на английском языке с последующим лингвострановедческим анализом.
