Авторами вводится в научный оборот термин «инсектофон» и определяется его место в фоносемантической системе английского языка. Инсектофоны следует отличать от звукоподражательных слов, вокативов, междометий, имитативов и идеофонов. Инсектофоны занимают определенную нишу в фоносемантической системе и могут рассматриваться в качестве отдельной группы в составе звукоизобразительной лексики, обладая собственными свойствами и функциями.</trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>insectophones</kwd><kwd>phonosemantic system</kwd><kwd>onomatopoeic words</kwd><kwd>vocatives</kwd><kwd>sound imitation</kwd><kwd>ideophonic words</kwd><kwd>phonetic motivation</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>инсектофоны</kwd><kwd>фоносемантическая система</kwd><kwd>звукоподразательные слова</kwd><kwd>вокативы</kwd><kwd>имитативы</kwd><kwd>идеофоны</kwd><kwd>фонетическая мотивированность</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Воронин С.В.
