Military and Labor Mobilization of Population Liable for Military Service during the Great Patriotic War Based on Materials of “Special Folders” of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (Bolsheviks) of Tajikistan
Abstract
The study examines the activities of mobilizing the republic’s human resources by the supreme party body of the Tajik SSR, the Central Committee of the Communist Party, during the Great Patriotic War. It is shown that the topic, despite its relevance, has been studied so far only partially. The study is based on the decisions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Tajikistan stored in the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History (RGASPI) in the so-called “special folders”, which are still little known to historians of Russia and Tajikistan. The study shows that throughout the war, the mobilization work was one of the main areas of activity of the republic’s party leadership. There are considered the main directions of this work: the mobilization of reservists and conscripts into the ranks of the Red Army and the labor front; maintaining military records, reservation and de-reservation of military personnel, the formation of national units. The author concludes that the introduction of the “special folders” of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Tajikistan into scientific discourse allows more fully revealing the contribution of the republic’s mobilization efforts to the common cause of Victory.
