students’ professional self-determination cannot be considered today in isolation from challenges of coping with uncertainty, managing stress, and maintaining stable professional development in a rapidly changing world. This study aimed to investigate the relationships between conscious self-regulation, career adaptability, and perceived stress among students. The sample consisted of 1436 students aged 16 to 23 years (Mage = 17.9; SD = 1.35) from educational institutions of the Russian Federation. The following methods were used: “Self-regulation profile questionnaire — SRPQM 2020” by V.I. Morosanova, “Career-Adaptabilities Scale, CAAS” by M. Savickas and E. Porfelli adapted in Russian and “Perceived Stress Scale — PSS 10” by S. Cohen and G. Williamson adapted in Russian. Comparative analysis revealed that students reporting low perceived stress levels demonstrated more developed conscious self-regulation and higher career adaptability compared to those with average or high stress levels. Regression analysis further indicated that perceived stress significantly and negatively predicted career adaptability, whereas conscious self-regulation emerged as a positive predictor. These findings suggest that conscious self-regulation acts as a meta-resource, enabling students to manage stress effectively, maintain their professional development trajectory in conditions of uncertainty, and achieve their educational goals.</p>
Проведенное исследование позволяет заключить, что осознанная саморегуляция как метаресурс может интегрировать усилия по преодолению стресса, предотвращая его развитие, позволяя студентам в условиях неопределенности не сходить с траектории своего профессионального развития и достигать поставленных образовательных целей.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>conscious self-regulation</kwd><kwd>career adaptability</kwd><kwd>distress</kwd><kwd>coping</kwd><kwd>perceived stress</kwd><kwd>students</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>осознанная саморегуляция</kwd><kwd>карьерная адаптивность</kwd><kwd>дистресс</kwd><kwd>совладание</kwd><kwd>воспринимаемый стресс</kwd><kwd>студенты</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><award-group><funding-source><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="ru">Исследование выполнено в рамках государственного задания ФГБНУ «Федеральный научный центр Междисциплинарных и психологических исследований», проект FNRE-2024-0013 «Стресс и его влияние на возрастное развитие личностных и регуляторных ресурсов психологического благополучия, академической успешности и профессионального самоопределения обучающихся».</institution></institution-wrap><institution-wrap><institution xml:lang="en">The study was carried out within the framework of the state assignment of the Federal Scientific Center for Interdisciplinary and Psychological Research, project FNRE-2024-0013: “Stress and its impact on the age-related development of personality and regulatory resources for psychological well-being, academic success and professional self-determination of students”</institution></institution-wrap></funding-source></award-group></funding-group></article-meta><fn-group/></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="en">Akkermans, J., Paradnike, K., Van der Heijden, B.
