According to A. Maslow’s theory of motivation, these two types of self-respect are expected to have different consequences for the psychological and school well-being of schoolchildren. The results showed that self-respect based on one’s own competence, efforts, and achievements predicted psychological well-being, intrinsic and autonomous academic motivation, and persistence. Self-respect based on others’ acceptance (approval) predicted only the motivation based on respect from parents and did not predict psychological well-being and persistence. Self-respect based on pseudo-achievements predicted external motivation and negatively predicted academic persistence (grit). The obtained results can serve as a basis for development of trainings which promote healthy self-respect by facilitation of personal competence development, constructive thinking, and ability to cope with difficult situations.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>В статье рассматриваются три типа оснований для самоуважения: два здоровых (самоуважение, основанное на проявлении усилий и достижении компетентности и высоких результатов в деятельности и самоуважение, основанное на позитивной оценке своих достижений значимыми другими) и вариант невротического самоуважения, основанного на псевдодостижениях. В соответствии с базовыми положениями А. Маслоу о двух типах потребности в уважении было выдвинуто предположение о том, что различные основания самоуважения будут иметь разные следствия для удовлетворенности жизнью, учебной мотивации и настойчивости школьников. В результате проведенного исследования показано, что чем больше самоуважение подростков было основано на собственных достижениях, достигнутых собственными усилиями и стараниями, тем выше была их удовлетворенность жизнью, также этот тип само-уважения позитивно сказывался на продуктивных формах учебной мотивации и настойчивости. Результаты свидетельствуют также о том, что самоуважение, основанное на признании компетентности индивида значимыми другими, позитивно связано с уровнем удовлетворенности жизнью и мотивацией уважения родителями. Третий тип самоуважения, основанный на достижении самоуважения компенсаторными способами, является негативным предиктором настойчивости и предиктором наличия у подростка экстернальной мотивации как наименее продуктивного типа учебной мотивации.
