Techniques of the historical novel and romance are investigated and illustrated with D’Israeli’s novel “Alroy”. Reviews taken from periodicals of the epoch and from the contemporary ones create social and cultural background of the novel writing process.В статье основное внимание уделено анализу особенностей поэтики английского исторического романа в жанре «ромэнс» эпохи романтизма, созданного Б. Дизраэли (1804—1881). На примере его романа «Алрой» исследуется техника создания жанра.
