Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1995), Professor (1996), Professor at the Institute of Physical Research and Technology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (2006).

The main areas of scientific activity of Professor Yuri Petrovich Rybakov are the study of multidimensional solitons with non-trivial topological indices, the development of a model of cosmic chiral self-gravitating strings. Yu.P. Rybakov managed to fully implement the Einstein-de Broglie concept. He proposed a gravitational mechanism for implementing the principle of nonlinear resonance by D. Bohm on the example of a modified Sing model, a special stochastic representation of quantum mechanics was found, i.e. from physical fields with soliton properties, it was possible to give a justification for the connection of spin with statistics (the Pauli principle) as a natural consequence of the extension of particles. Within the framework of the soliton model of the atom, it was also possible to substantiate Bohr's postulates about the existence of stable stationary states of an electron in an atom. Yu.P. Rybakov proved that cosmic chiral self-gravitating strings are stable and can be detected by powerful electromagnetic radiation, which is characteristic of such objects due to the presence of a huge topological charge. Together with Ya.P. Terletsky wrote the textbooks "Electrodynamics" (Moscow: Higher School, 1980, 1990) and "Quantum Mechanics" (Moscow: RUDN, 1991). In 1998, his scientific achievements were awarded the Louis de Broglie Medal, and in 2006 he was awarded the title of Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation.

Author of more than 200 scientific papers, more than 60 of which are published in publications indexed in Scopus and WoS.
