Goals of the therapy must include the resolution of clinical signs, the eradication of pathogens from genital tract and the prevention of sequelae primarily including the development of chronic inflammation. The paper deals with the currennt problems and contraversial issues of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease. This review presents the results of domestic and foreign studies, and the own view of the issue, the prospects and possible solutions.Воспалительные заболевания органов малого таза (ВЗОМТ) — наиболее распространенные и достаточно серьезные инфекционные заболевания, встречающиеся у женщин репродуктивного возраста. Цель лечения должна заключаться не только в исчезновении симптомов, эррадикации инфекта из половых путей, но и в предупреждении развития возможных осложнений, в первую очередь развития хронического воспаления. Статья посвящена существующим в настоящее время проблемам и спорным вопросам в отношении хронических воспалительных заболеваний органов малого таза.
