The authors outline a number of thematic groups with the highest concentration of euphemisms, determine the rate of euphemized and non-euphemized headlines and provide a thorough analysis using multiple examples. The research is cross-cultural and is based on the latest practical material.Приведены результаты сравнительного исследования англоязычных заголовков в двух изданиях «The New York Times» и «The Moscow Times» на предмет использования эвфемистических конструкций. В рамках выявленных тематических блоков, наиболее актуальных для изучения эвфемии, авторы определяют соотношение прямых номинаций и эвфемизмов в заголовках выбранных изданий, а также анализируют многочисленные примеры.
