Abstract
The article examines the process of a rebirth of ismailism in Gorno-Badakhshan republic of Tajikistan after disintegration of the Soviet Union. Literacy, medical help, possibly instruction in various crafts or even good technical education which may enable the younger generations to attain much higher standard of living, and the Ismailis of Badakhshan may quickly develop into a prosperous community.
