HISTORICAL AND TECHNICAL ANALYSIS OF INSUFFICIENTLY KNOWN DESIGN FEATURES OF THE SHABOLOVKA RADIO TOWER

LEONOV A.V.

Abstract

Virtual 3D modeling of the Shukhov's tower located in Shabolovka Street was performed in the S.I. Vavilov Institute for the History of Science and Technology of the Russian Acad- emy of Sciences in 2011-2013 and enabled to reveal a number of differences between histori- cal documentation and the real structure. Some of the results were published earlier. New re- sults regarding the height of the tower and the method of mounting of the intermediate rigidity rings to the outer legs of the two lower sections are presented in this article

STRESS-STRAIN STATEOF TWO-LAYERED ANISOTROPIC FOUNDATION

KUDRYAVTSEV S.G., BULDAKOVA J.M.

Abstract

The method of determination of displacements and stresses in the two-layer anisotropic foundation under the action of normal and tangential surface loadsis given. Orthotropic elastic characteristics of various layers. We consider the version of the full adhesion between the lay- ers. The decision is based on the equations of the plane problem of elasticity theory. Graphical representations of changing stresses depending on the characteristics of the material of layers are shown

ANALYSIS OF CARRYING CAPACITY OF ECCENTRIC COMPRESSED RE- INFORCED CONCRETE BLOCKS UNDER DIFFERENT VALUES OF ECCENTRICITIES OF LONGITUDINAL FORCES

Starishko I.N.

Abstract

The paper presents a theory for calculating eccentrically compressed concrete elements in the ultimate limit state of bearing capacity, taking into account all the possible stresses in the longitudinal reinforcement from RS to RSC, caused by different values of the eccentricity e of the longitudinal force N. Method of calculation is based on the simultaneous solution of the equilibrium equations of longitudinal forces and internal forces with equilibrium equations of bending moments. The joint solution of the above as well as additional equations that reflect the stress-strain limit state elements makes it possible to obtain a higher convergence of the calculated bearing capacity with an experienced, as well as to enhance the durability and reli- ability in their operatio

THE PROBLEMS OF ENERGY OPTIMIZATION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURES UNDER DYNAMIC LOADING

Bondarenko V.M.

Abstract

The article formulates the parcel assessment of energy losses in alternating deformation of reinforced concrete. A method of accounting for these losses when designing the structure; the method takes into account cases of the influence of corrosion damage on the loss and contains proposals on optimization in the design of reinforced concrete structures.

DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF PAVEMENT SUBJECTED TO MOVING LOAD

Kolmogorov G.L., Kychkin V.I., Esipenko I.A.

Abstract

The problem of dynamic equilibrium of the pavement under the action of moving load using ratios plane strain viscoelastic solid, resting on viscoelastic foundation is considered. By using finite difference method developed economical constitutive relation for numerical im- plementation of the problem. Approach to analysis in the frequency range is offered. Depend- ences of the road surface displacement amplitude on moving load speed for different values of foundation modulus are shown. Optimal speed of moving load is determined.

THE BLANKING OPERATION FOR MAKING STANDARD IMPACT TEST SAMPLES OF COLD-DEFORMED (HARD-WROUGHT) STRUCTURAL STEELS

Sokolova T.V., Sokolov A.M.

Abstract

A simple, original method of producing cold deformed (hard-wrought) structural middle carbon alloys work pieces for next producing impact test samples are proposed. This method saves the metal and can significantly to reduce a consumption of the tungsten-carbide inserts.

EXPERIMENTAL TEST OF THE MODEL OF A NONLOCAL ELASTIC FOUNDATION

POTAPOV V.D., FIMKIN A.I., PEPANYAN A.R.

Abstract

The design of bars, lying on an elastic base is fulfilled usually with help of a simple model of the base proposed by Winkler. This hypothesis was subjected to repeated critics. A new model of nonlocal elastic foundation was proposed by PotapovV.D . It allows reducing some contradictions of Winkler's model. In the paper, an attempt of an experimental test of the hypothesis of nonlocal elastic foundation is undertaken

RESEARCHOF THE DEFORMATION OF THE BRICK-CABLE ARCH IGORK

DMITRIEV I.K.

Abstract

The article tells about the experimental researches for determination the carrying capacity and identificationthe most successful arch construction, consisted from small timber bricks, strung together on two steel cables. While pulling cables from the mainstay area, the bricks garland transformed to double joint brick-cable arch. Three different constructive schemes of this arch were tested and each of themwas loadedby the concentrated force at its top region. Graphics force-deformationwereplotted as the results of the tests. It was determined such construction of the brick-cable arch, as was comparable to the glued laminated timber arch by its carrying capacity.
