Abstract

The article deals with the possibilities of formation of professional and general culturalcompetencies of students in the process of independent work, which is now becoming more relevant due to the competence approach and turns into one of the main components of professional training of future specialists. Studies were conducted in the field of organizing independent work for students. Particular attention is paid to that part of the independent work that is realized in the course of auditorium lessons - at lectures, seminars and at the performance of laboratory work. There are methodological recommendations for increasing the proportion of independent work of students in mastering the basic educational programs of higher professional education.
