The category of “self-cultivation” and its application in liberal arts education

Abstract

This work is devoted to analysis of the ideas of Du Weiming and R.K. Neville, vivid representatives of the so-called Boston school of modern Confucianism. Basing on the example of “Self-Cultivation” concept philosophers attempt to apply the categories of Confucian ethics in the model of liberal education as one of the most popular and perspective ones abroad.
