THE ULTIMATE COLLAPSE OF THE HIGH IN PUSHKIN’S LITERARY EXPERIMENTS

Valentinova O.I.

Abstract

In this article, the methodological bases of the conception of causal text typology developed by O.I. Valentinova as a means of tracing the change of consciousness as a result of the change of a relationship between the sign and the meaning are realized in the research of the empirical material which is of great significance for the understanding of Russian culture - historically new contexts emerging in Pushkin’s literary experience. The algorithm of action proposed by the author leads to semiotically significant conclusions that the irreversibility of changes of consciousness is expressed in the change of the principle of organization of the semantic structure of the word, that the semantic structure of the language and word reflects a sharp reduction of the ethical basis in secular consciousness

CROSS-TEXTUAL INTERACTIONS IN THE CROWN OF SONNETS

Hakobyan L.G.

Abstract

The genre form of the crown of sonnets is a supertextual level phenomenon, the unity of which is provided by various kinds of cross-textual connections. In particular, we examine the cross-textual coherence a) between the master-sonnet and 14 texts of the main corpus (the ring of sonnets) and b) between the poetic texts of the main corpus. A special attention is given to the cross-textual repetition as the most characteristic form of connections within the supertextual unit. Two functional types of cross-textual connections in the corona structure, the obligatory and the complementary one, are revealed. The first type provides the cohesion of each of the fourteen texts with the master sonnet, and besides, the circular organization of the main corpus; the second one determines the coherence degree between the texts of the main corpus

NICHOLAI KAVALEROV AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE«UNDERGROUND MAN» IN RUSSIAN LITERATURE

Kasatkina K.V.

Abstract

This article is devoted to the comparative analysis of two characters: “Underground man” (“Notes from Underground” by F. M. Dostoevsky) and Nikolai Kavalerov (“Envy” by J. K. Olesha). The narrator of “Notes from Underground” and protagonist of the novel “Envy” share a number of similarities in their world views, behavior, speech, character and psychological traits. Kavalerov has the whole complex of “underground traits”: he combines pride with desire for self-humiliation, he is prone to daydreaming, but is not capable of any practical activity. His relations with people are quite similar to ones of Dostoevsky’s hero. Further analysis shows, that Nikolai Kavalerov is a peculiar transformation of the “underground man” type in historical context of the twenties of XX century.

V. NABOKOB AND M. PROUST: FUNCTIONS OF PASTICHE IN “KAMERA OBSCURA”

Ledenev A.V., Nizhnik A.V.

Abstract

The article discusses the issue of M. Proust’s influence on V. Nabokov and a group of younger Russian Emigre writers. During the 1930s Nabokov struggles to find his own style, and to take the best from his “literary teachers”. Nabokov manages to assimilate some Proust’s literary devices, but at the same time he ironically ridicules the intention of his contemporaries, authors of “Chisla” journal, to become “Russian versions of Proust”. He shows examples of pastiche and parody on different levels of text ranging from plot to “proustian” syntax. He wants to distance himself from blind imitation of Proust (in which he was accused by his rivals from “Chisla”) and to assimilate best parts of his style. That is the main artistic function of “proustian” chapter in the novel “Kamera Obscura”

The ontologic analysis of the philosophical and ethical notions presented here is an advance in comprehension of the rich metaphorical and symbolical structure of one of Nabokov’s most complicated and mysterious novels
