The article discussesthe process of copyright formationinIndia.Development ofintellectual property rightsin Indiahas a dynamiccharacter; the national legislation is undergoingtransformationin an effort toensure the preservation ofthe balancebetween the interests ofcreators and consumersof media products, as well as to bring thelegislative instruments to international standards.Particular qualities of copyright in India are determined with active integrationof the countryinto the world economyand the courseon the developmentof Indian society.
