Abstract

This article analyzes such systemically important features of the game poetics in “The death of Achilles” by B. Akunin, as stylization, intertextuality, theatricalization, effects of deceived expectations, playful structure of the text, variation of the plot lines, playful narration etc. It shows on various examples of this work how the author organically merges the playfulness and historical elements in his own kind of detective genre, and how he implements the interactive principle and creates provocative text.
