Christian motives in the tale of people’s militia in 1611-1612 in the New Chronicler

Tufanova O.A.

Abstract

The idea of cleansing the Moscow state, closely related to the idea of protecting the true Orthodox faith permeates the tale of people’s militia in 1611-1612 in the New Chronicler. The specifics of the story about the events of 1611-1612, observed in the New Chronicler, which found expression in a combination of motives, reflecting real actions of militia organizing, and motives of hoping for God’s help and with God’s help and miracle workers indicates that relatively recent past is quite deliberately transformed by the author into the system-constructed text, in which all elements are subject to two main ideas. It is not by chance that in the militia organizers personalities in 1611-1612 the author of the New Chronicler emphasizes exclusively the qualities that characterize them as people who deeply believe and act in the difficult events of The Time of Troubles in accordance with the basics and rules of Orthodox culture. In general, the New Chronicler reflected in the story about events in 1611-1612, established by the 30th years of the 17th century the events interpretation, turning the history of the people’s militia in the symbolic “sign”: victory was possible thanks to the “admonition” of the people, the return of the “fallen people” to the Orthodox fundamentals of good behavior, which was consecrated by the God’s help and miracle workers.

The poetics of survival: experience of the first months of emigration in N.A. Teffi’s “Istanbul and the Sun” collection of short stories

Ledenev A.V., Romanova K.S.

Abstract

The article analyses essays and stories included into N.A. Teffi’s “Istanbul and the Sun” book. The authors contend that interpretation of reality as an illusion or dream while staying awake is a notable characteristic of N.A. Teffi’s Istanbul prose. The authors conclude that one of the key themes of Teffi’s work - the perception of life as a dream - obtains in Istanbul sketches the dual status of a sociocultural verdict and a peculiar prescription for survival (concurrently aesthetical and psychological). On the one hand, dream seemingly deprives one’s consciousness of the course of time, i.e. the established order of days, months, and years. The writer views destitute life of Russian emigres in Istanbul as a social numbness or mirage which, however, may fade away some day. On the other hand, dream is a transition into the world of imagination, the sphere of fairy tale where historic upheavals have no significance, and which is granted the status of true reality in Teffi’s system of values.

The influence on Mandelstam by Goethe: “The Octaves” as “The Poems on the Cognition”

Kornienko S.A.

Abstract

The article considers “The Octaves” by O.E. Mandelstam as the unique complex of genre and theme connected not only with the literary but also with the philosophical influence of J.W. Goethe on the Mandelstam’s poetry. It is proved that Mandelstam enters the consensual dialogue with Goethe because at the time of creating the studied cycle of poems, at the beginning of 1930s, Mandelstam’s interest in scientific theories, especially in biology and history reached its pinnacle. Mandelstam’s “The Octaves”, “Lamarck” are compared with scientific works of J.W. Goethe as well as with his sciencerelated poetry, in particular with “Metamorphosis of Plants”. Imaginative homology of both poets, convergence of their plots and trope functions are demonstrated. All this undoubtedly proves that Mandelshtam was affected by Goethe’s beliefs reflected in his ideology and ideopoetic. It is shown how the feeling of spiritual connection with Goethe which Mandelstam had, especially after his journey to Armenia (and acquaintance with biologist B. Kuzin) is converted into aesthetic world view and poetic principles. It brightly manifests itself in lyrical ontology of such “The Octaves” like: “Both Schubert on the waters and Mozart in birds’ chirping...”, “When having destroyed a draft...”, “Oh, Moslem-butterfly...”, “And the jagged bough of a maple-tree...”.

The transformation of the image of the house in the diaries of Irina Knorring

Koznova N.N.

Abstract

In this article, based on the material of the diaries of the first wave reader Irina Knorring (1906- 1943), which are little-known to the modern reader, a detailed contextual analysis is carried out aimed at identifying various modifications of one of the key images of the story - the image of the house. In the course of the analysis, the semantic expansion of the image becomes obvious: from the ancestral estate to the big city, from it to Russia, as a huge country-home, in space, planetary meaning. The author’s rethinking of the archetypal concept of “home” occurs gradually under the influence of changing socio-political, historical and cultural circumstances in Russia and the world as a whole in the first half of the 20th century. As a result, it becomes clear the particular poet to the diary genre forms, not only in prose, but also in poetry, which, according to contemporaries I. Knorring, “the diary of her female soul”.

Philosophical aspects of literary-critical creative work of I.B. Rodnyanskaya

Zenova E.M.

Abstract

In most literary and critical articles of I. Rodnyanskaya, regardless of the originally chosen topic, the reasoning affects the laws of human nature in general. The explanation of this sustained interest in the philosophical aspect can be found in Rodnyanskaya’s methodological guidelines, namely in the commitment to the direction chosen by V. S. Solovyov in literary criticism. The essence of this approach is to correlate observations on the aesthetic side of the works with the truth in the highest sense of the concept. Solovyov’s method is evaluated positively, because he managed to point out the absence of contradictions between the careful study of the artistic aspect and the reading of the text from a philosophical perspective. The purpose of this article is identifying patterns that indicate the impact of creativity Solovyov on the methodology of literary criticism Rodnyanskaya in general and poetics of articles in particular. Referring to the literary and critical work of Solovyov, it is possible to comprehend goals of Rodnyanskaya herself. Close attention to the one of the sixties’s philosophical criticism suggests: in the era of the Thaw in literary criticism revived philosophical direction.

Event-sphere as a communicative platform for the modern poet

Danilova S.A., Bilchenko E.V.

Abstract

The authors of the article proceed from the conviction that it is necessary to present the creative achievements of the modern poet in various communication platforms. The article describes the different types of such sites, motivates the need for their convergent use in the system of strategic communications. The effectiveness of the most popular communication platforms is based on the assessments of millenial poets facing with the most difficult task of identifying their own author’s identity in the context of altermodern discourse. The following types of communication platforms are overviewed: TV shows, a literary magazine, a festival, a festival with a competitive component, a school of writing, poetic blogosphere, and a personal brand. The communicative opportunities offered by these platforms allow to integrate traditions and innovations, modern and postmodern, universal and particular, mass and elitist beginnings in culture, overcoming the negative trends of each discourse separately: isolationism and commercialization, dogmatism and simulation, closeness for the interlocutor and the devaluation of the values of high poetic culture. In the issue we hypothesize that the millennial poet chooses the art of combining as the most effective communication strategy, allowing the author to show his identity.

Perceptions of A.A. Akhmatova and her works in China

Zou L., Mikhailova M.V.

Abstract

This thesis is devoted to studying the acceptance extent of A.A. Akhmatova and her works in China. Not enough attention was paid to the acceptance extent of foreign poetess’s works while conducting contemporary studies about Akhmatova. The analyses of Chinese literary works about the Akhmatova poetic heritage and the existing assessments of her poetry are carried out in this thesis for the first time. The author insists that the acceptance of Akhmatova’s works in China goes through several stages. It was in the late 20 century that the Chinese public firstly acquainted with her poems. Yet, the real discovery of her poems occurred only in the 1980s. And at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries, there was a genuine Akhmatova study boom, which began to carry out studies about her biographies and early lyrical works. Associating with analyses of foreign studies about her works and taking into account the poetess’s translation strategies of permeating Chinese poems to Russian poetic space, the researchers identified her significant influence on Chinese poetic culture. Attention is also drawn to analyze the comparative works within the framework of the similarity of “female voices” in poetry. This thesis also indicates the future study trend of Akhmatova in China, which will certainly trigger closer interactions and discussions among Chinese scholars who focus on studying the poetess’s heritage.

The reception of the novel by B. Pasternak “Doctor Zhivago” in China - the image of the protagonist

Zhang X.

Abstract

The article discusses the features of the interpretation of the image of the protagonist of B. Pasternak’s novel “Doctor Zhivago” by Chinese literary critics. In particular, issues related to the presentation of the main character - Yuri Zhivago - as the son of God (the apostle of Christ), an “extra person” or holy fool. It is noted that Zhivago’s figure is perceived and evaluated ambiguously, as indicated by the presence of certain differences in the interpretation of Dr. Zhivago’s figure by Chinese researchers. Based on the analysis, the author argues that none of the areas considered by the researchers was an exhaustive explanation of the hero’s life and behavior, which indicates the complexity of the image, its ambiguity and versatility.

Media strategies of charitable organizations’ presentations: functional and axiological problems

Soldatkina Y.V., Zemlyansky A.V.

Abstract

The article discusses the main contemporary models of media presentation of charitable activities, which illustrate the processes of media convergence and transformation of the functions of journalism - combining information-analytical and advertising goals, the emergence of PR journalism. Media presentation of charitable activities is closely connected with the media text of social topics, and with advertising and PR tasks, which causes some difficulties in the developing of media strategies of charitable organizations. The first basic model of media strategy is built on the principle of “horizontal links” - information is distributed pointwise through social networks without special marketing costs. The second basic model involves the widespread use of professional media resources: journalistic texts and public relations campaigns, the creation of media portals to expand the audience of donors. In today’s Russian media space, the use of business schemes by charitable organizations causes a public debate on the credibility of trust and the forms of accountability of the benefactor to society. The media space of social networks plays a huge ambivalent role in creating a media image of charitable activities. On the one hand, it provides an interactive link between the benefactor and the society, but on the other hand, it imposes special axiological requirements on the benefactor and his media activities.

Miroshnichenko G.A.

Abstract

The article investigates the communicative mechanism of verbal suggestion in television advertising. Suggestion is considered as a media-constructed type of communication, the subject of which is an advertising message, which includes in its content an emotive narrative that stimulates the recipient’s desire to buy the advertised product, and directive speech acts in the form of an installation that directs the consumer’s actions in the interests of the brand. Particular attention is paid to communicative techniques, the specifics of speech statements, characteristic lexical and grammatical structures that implement the strategy of suggestion. The communicative mechanism of suggestion is revealed on the examples of Russian television commercial advertising. Research of suggestion as a specific process of communication meets the modern needs of brands that advertise their product in the conditions of commodity abundance and reduce consumer demand.

Stereotypization and mythologization of the image of Russia in modern Spanish newspapers

Oleynikov A.S., Slavina V.A.

Abstract

The article discusses the stereotyping and mythologization of the image of Russia, identified as a result of an analysis of the modern Spanish press. The empirical base of the study consists of articles of electronic versions of socio-political newspapers “ABC”, “El Pais”, “El Mundo” from 2014 to 2018. The considered time interval is associated with significant changes in international relations and the emergence of differences between the West and Russia on key issues of its foreign and domestic policy. Immediate response of the international community to the actions of Russia has contributed to fundamental changes in its perceptions about the global media space. An important component of the image of the world in the media sphere is the image of the state, which is created primarily through the media. It is formed on the basis of actual events of the surrounding reality, reflects their dynamics, expresses the public consciousness and influences it. Creating a media image of Russia, Spanish newspapers rely on stereotypical ideas and myths about it existing in the West, and also take part in the creation of new ones. Stereotyping and mythologization form a specific negative perception matrix, which negatively affects the image of Russia and demonizes it.

Luxembourg daily press: degree of political engagement

Voronenkova G.F., Maslina M.G.

Abstract

The article discusses the connection of four daily newspapers of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg - “Luxemburger Wort”, “Tageblatt”, “Lëtzebuerger Journal” and “Zeitung vum Lëtzebuerger Vollek” - with the party system. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that the Luxembourg press has never been studied by Russian scientists either in general or from the point of view of political engagement, which the authors study in four aspects: historical, in point of content, economic and audience (in this case it’s about media preferences of politicians - party members). However, there is a positive side to the political commitment of the Luxembourg editions: the connection with political parties contributes to maintaining the diversity of the newspaper landscape of Luxembourg.

Matvienko V.V., Kurmanova D.B.

Abstract

The article analyzes a particular case of the mediatization of modern socio-cultural reality through the informational and communication technologies, using the example of modern Georgian-Indian relations. Combining activities of the сhief editor and the host of information program: new regional specifics (on the example of GTRK “Vladivostok”)

Semakina O.N.

Abstract

Universality finds new incarnations in practical journalistic activity. In regional editions a different type of universality appears, expressed in the combination of the activities of the chief editor and the news anchor. The article analyzes the experience of the GTRK “Vladivostok”, which broadcasts on the territory of the Primorsky Krai. The problem of the emergence of a new trend in journalism is still poorly understood. Now the chief editor, who is responsible for the work of the whole team and forms the news program, needs to combine various journalistic communicative roles, including technical and managerial skills. Based on a comparative analysis of job descriptions, the author makes assumptions about how compatible these two professions are in terms of rights and functional responsibilities, and what is their fundamental difference. When examining two job descriptions, it becomes clear that the work of the chief editor essentially absorbs the duties of the presenter, which means that it allows you to combine editorial activities with the conduct of broadcasts.
