Intercultural communicatiom as anthropological linguodidactics component

Aschi M., Muhammad L.P., Tatarinova N.V.

Abstract

The issue of the research is related to the account of nationally determined personality traits of a foreign student in the model of intercultural educational communication on the principles of anthropological linguodidactics. The relevance of the work is in determining the criteria for modeling intercultural learning communication in relation to Turkish students of the initial stage of education (levels A0-A2). The result of this study is the creation of a personally oriented Russian language teaching model for Turkish students of the preparatory faculty. Unlike traditional models, the proposed model is built into the anthropological paradigm of constructing educational models, taking into account primarily the existential needs of the Turkish language personality, as well as the mechanisms of interaction of the individual in the process of educational intercultural communication. The purpose of the work is to use the possibilities of anthropological linguodidactics in relation to intercultural communication, to identify the center and the periphery in the communicative space of Turkish students studying Russian language in order to enter the philological faculties of Russian universities. As the main method of research, we distinguish the method of constructing a learning model based on the principles and provisions of anthropological linguodidactics; the latter also involves the extensive use of practical methods: observation of interpersonal communication in groups of Turkish students, interviewing, and generalization of communication experience in the classroom and beyond. The material of the study is a real ongoing in the classroom of Turkish students learning process on the Russian language, as well as video and audio recordings of the process. The novelty of the research lies in the fact that educational intercultural communication is considered from the perspective of modern methodological science - anthropological linguodidactics. The theoretical significance of the work consists in the construction of a model of educational intercultural communication with the definition of the center and the periphery in relation to the Turkish students of the preparatory faculty. The construction of this model can help methodologists, theorists and teachers, practitioners optimally organize the learning process for the language training of Turkish students who intend to enroll in Russian universities. The study revealed a certain minimum of personal properties of Turkish students, significantly affecting their educational intercultural communication in the early periods of their stay in the training of preparatory faculties of Russia. This work allows to draw a conclusion about the prospects of further study of educational intercultural communication from the perspective of anthropological linguodidactics.

Linguistic conceptualization of pride in Russian and English cultures

Karasik V.I.

Abstract

The paper deals with linguistic conceptualization of pride in Russian and English. Main notional vectors of such mental entity are specified. This concept is represented as a semantic field of affiliated meanings defining various aspects of personal social status evaluation. I argue that exaggerated selfrepresentation is expressed as contempt to the others, desire to dominate and show disrespect to other people, and to show them that they belong to a lower class. This concept is often illustrated by metaphors of size and height. Common ways of nonverbal demonstration of pride are certain facial expressions and gestures. Typical objects of feeling proud of are described. Everyday and religious discourse substantially varies in expression and evaluation of pride. Proverbs focus on critical evaluation of being too proud of oneself, whereas aphorisms show an ambivalent attitude to this concept.

The Main Trends and Principles of Modern Linguistics

Maslova V.A.

Abstract

The article identifies and describes the main trends and principles of modern linguistics such as integrativity, anthropocentricity, communicativeness, dialogicness, discursiveness, culturecentricity, interest in deep language knowledge, which interact even in one research. Taking the human factor into account is the most important characteristic of post-nonclassical science, and therefore the anthropocentric vector of modern linguistic research contributes to the emergence of most of these principles. In the twenty-first century, all humanities including linguistics are changing under the new demands of the modern social situation: first of all, due to a higher level of synthesis of humanities, their integrativity not only among themselves, but also with natural sciences. For such a complex research object as language, representatives of many sciences can contribute - from molecular biology, genetics, neurophysiology and psychology to anthropology, neurolinguistics and analytical philosophy. Research specialization should be found, as V.I. Vernadsky points out, “not in science, but in problems”, because the removal of information barriers between the sciences gives a powerful impetus for the research development. Thanks to these tendencies and principles, linguistics started exploring the problems that previously were not part in its sphere of interest. Now the sphere of interest of linguistics includes everything that meets the requirements of sign systems theory and allows to see the deep semantic foundations of language, human mentality and culture.

Features of adaptation of foreign students to the Russian linguo-cultural and educational environment

Fedotova N.L., Miller L.V.

Abstract

The article describes the factors that influence the processes of socio-psychological and sociocultural adaptation of foreign students receiving education in a second language in terms of the culturally alien environment. The adaptation process is considered in two interrelated coordinate systems: the student - his/her socio-cultural environment and student - educational environment, in which he included natural way. Socio-cultural adaptation of a foreign student is a multi-step process that includes: 1) dosed directly related to the motivational sphere of the student’s receipt of information about the culture of the country of the target language; 2) development of the ability to correct interpretation of specific manifestations of communicative behavior of Russian; 3) the formation of practical skills of educational professional and cultural-everyday communication with Russians. The authors substantiate the position that the process will be less painful and more effective if: a) to make it manageable; b) to develop a set of measures to prevent failures in communication and to remove the psychological tension, which is due to the influence of other cultures.
