The investigation of quartz ceramics specimen hardness and roughness as a function of surface imperfection

Abstract

Studies on the evaluation of quartz glass ceramics NIASIT (SiO2) hardness with the use of electronic microhardness tester have been conducted. 3D patterns of specimen surface topography and profiles at the specified cross-sections are given. The dependence of quartz ceramics hardness on the burning temperature and porosity is shown.
